    Sail250 & Fleet Week Military History Tour of New York Harbor

    In honor of Fleet Week and Sail4th 250, Classic Harbor Line and Turnstile Tours present a special Military History Boat Tour exploring New York Harbor’s strategic role from the Revolutionary War through today, with a focus on World War II. This 2.75-hour guided cruise will pass by historic military sites including the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Brooklyn Army Terminal, Staten Island Navy Pier, and the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, while offering waterside views of active Navy and Coast Guard vessels visiting for Fleet Week.     A race to Boston for the “Five Sisters Cup” between four of the five sister ships that remain in service: USCG’s barque Eagle (U.S.), Sagres (Portugal), Mircea (Romania), and Gorch Fock (Germany), which has held the Tiffany-made trophy since 1976.

    A massive formation of U.S. and international fixed and rotary wing aircraft will parade over the Verrazzano Bridge, above the Hudson River, flying in formations and over the International Parade of Sail. The Blue Angels will lead the review, and there will be a thrilling surprise not to be missed.
