Gates are open from 9AM – 1:30PM. The event concludes at 2PM.
Ferry service is the only transportation to and from Governors Island. See Ferry Transportation for more details.
Children ages 2 and older require a ticket. Strollers are permissible.
All guests and bags will be subject to security screening upon entry. Please review the Prohibited Items List.
Re-entry is not allowed.

Ferry Transport
Ferries to Governors Island depart from the Battery Maritime Building (10 South Street, Lower Manhattan) every 30 minutes between AM and 6 PM. Visit the Governors Island Ferry Info page for the latest ferry schedule.
Event tickets include roundtrip ferry transportation. Please show your Ticket Tree event ticket to the ferry operators upon boarding.
The ferry ride is approximately 15 minutes, followed by a 20-minute walk from the Governor Island terminal to the event gates. Please plan accordingly.
Guests are welcome to explore Governors Island after the event concludes at 2PM. However, all attendees must depart on the final ferry at 6PM.
All ferries are wheelchair accessible.
Weather
This is a rain-or-shine outdoor event.
Dress for the weather; it is typically hot and humid during this time of year.
Protect yourself from the sun. Sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses are key.
Food and Drink
Food and beverage will be available for purchase from some of New York City’s most exclusive purveyors. Alcohol is available for purchase for those 21+ with a valid ID.
Event Policies
Attendees must abide by the below rules:
All visitors, backpacks, packages and vehicles are subject to search.
Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Outside food and beverage are not allowed on the event grounds.
Cyclists must dismount and walk their bicycles on all ferries.
Bicycles are not allowed inside the event and must be secured at designated bike racks on the island. Bicycles may not be locked to fencing, benches, trees, or any other infrastructure.
All visitors must depart the Island on or before the departure of the last public ferry departing Governors Island each day.
Governors Island is home to unique historic and natural resources. Entering buildings that are not open to the public and fenced-off or secured areas is prohibited. Removal of any artifacts or other materials found on the Island, including plantings, is strictly prohibited.
In the event of an emergency, attendees must follow all directions from staff, security, and emergency personnel.
Prohibited Items
The following items are prohibited at the event:
Large purses and backpacks, hard and soft coolers, camera bags, laptop computer bags, and suitcase luggage
Alcoholic beverages, marijuana or any illegal substances
Explosives, firearms, knives, pepper spray, and weapons of any kind
Glass bottles
Umbrellas
Airhorns
Motorized vehicles, including motorized bicycles/scooters/skateboards, except for pedal-assist e-bicycles, mobility scooters or motorized wheelchairs. Non-motorized bicycles, scooters, and skateboards are allowed
Strollers are permitted
Pets or other animals; service animals are permitted in accordance with New York State Law
Drones
Prohibited Activities
The following activities are prohibited at the event:
Smoking of tobacco, e-cigarettes or other products that produce a vapor or smoke
Commercial activity or solicitation
Littering
Picking flowers or plants
Securing items to trees or buildings
Feeding any animals in the park, including birds or squirrels
Creating any disturbances, nuisances, or unsafe conditions
Trespassing and entering restricted areas
Consuming alcohol outside of designated areas
Health and Safety
Sail4th 250 works closely with law enforcement and public safety partners to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. All guests and bags will be subject to security screening upon entry. Plan to arrive early and review the Prohibited Items list in advance. Items not permitted will need to be discarded before entry.
If you need medical attention, please visit the First Aid Tent or notify a staff member immediately. Report any suspicious or unusual activity to event staff and safety personnel immediately.
In case of an emergency, contact the nearest public safety official immediately.
Enforcement
Violations of Sail4th 250 policies and procedures may result in fines, removal from the event, or denial of future event participation.
