CHAIR

Former executive of the City of New York, served under three New York mayors, most recently as Executive Director of the Mayor's Office of Citywide Event Coordination and Management, and operates her own consultancy.

Christopher O'Brien
PRESIDENT, VICE CHAIR

U.S. Coast Guard veteran, served as executive director of Operation sail from 2004-2019, and director of operations for the U.S. Navy for the Port of New York. Full bio.

William G. Armstrong Jr.
SECRETARY

U.S. Navy (CAPT-Ret.), long-time public relations executive, author and educator, worked in OpSail in 1986, 2000 and 2012, and serves on several non-profit boards.

TREASURER

Experienced management consultant to the financial services industry and attorney, as well as a seasoned long-distance ocean sailor and racer.  

Orlando Camargo

Orlando served as Vice President and Director of Communications for Goldman Sachs in Japan from 2000-2006 and later as President of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide Japan from 2006-2011, where he focused on social media strategies and reputation management for Fortune 500 brands. At Ithaca Street Partners, he collaborates with CEOs and organizations to enhance their communications efforts. He is a former President of the ALPFA New York Chapter and has completed 8 triathlons. Orlando currently resides in Harlem, NYC.

Daniel S. Dayton

Founder and chairman emeritus, Doughboy Foundation; former executive director of the United States Navy World War I Centennial Commission; 30-year U.S. Navy public affairs officer.

Captain John DeCruz

President of the Sandy Hook Pilots Association, a pioneer in New York's maritime community, a supporter of the New York Harbor School, serves on the board of the Billion Oyster Project.

Chairman and CEO of Fisher House Foundation; partner of Fisher Brothers; co-chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum.

Mike Jaconi

Co-Founder and CEO of Button, the mobile commerce technology company powering over $1 billion in monthly commerce through its platform.  Button has raised more than $150 million in funding and has been recognized as a "Best Place to Work” every year since its founding, a testament to his leadership and the vibrant culture he’s built. Has previously founded multiple companies and prior to Button sold a software company to Rakuten, one of Japan’s largest internet companies. He serves as Vice Chairman of the Board at the Billion Oyster Project, a nonprofit working to restore New York Harbor’s ecosystem.  Jaconi also leads the revitalization of Brooklyn Bridge Marina (formerly ONE°15).
