General Attendance

Which events are a part of Sail4th 250?

Sail4th250 boasts a diverse schedule of events celebrating America's 250th. Featured events include the Grand Review at Governors Island on July 4 and Tall Ship Tours throughout the city July 5-7.

General ship tours in Brooklyn Bridge Park, Sail City, South Street Seaport, and Staten Island Waterfront Park are offered 12-6pm on most days. Tours are free, though reservations are highly recommended to avoid long wait times.

Are pets allowed at the event?

No, pets are not allowed. Service animals are permitted in accordance with New York State Law. 

Is the event family-friendly?

Yes, bring the family! Strollers and children under the age of five are allowed onto the piers, but not the ships due to safety concerns.

Is there a minimum age to attend the events?

Children are welcome, but anyone under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Children must be five and older in order to board the ships.

Is there a dress code for the events?

Closed-toe shoes are required to board the ships.

Ticketing

Do I need a ticket to attend Sail4th?

Some events require tickets. Please check Sail4th Ticketing for more information. You can also book directly at our partner platform Ticket Tree.

Are tickets refundable or transferable?

No, tickets are not refundable or transferable.

Do children need a ticket?

Yes, children aged 2 years and older require a ticket.

How do I show my ticket at the event?

Most event reservations will be made through our ticketing partner, Ticket Tree. Once your reservation is confirmed, you will receive an email containing a QR code. Please have your QR code ready to be scanned at the event entrance.

Specific events may have additional instructions or a different registration process. Be sure to review the details provided with your reservation confirmation.

Travel & Transportation

Is there public transportation to the events?

Yes, New York City has some of the best public transportation in the world. Use your favorite GPS app or explore your options on the MTA website.

Where is the best place to park?

Cars are strongly discouraged as parking is limited and traffic will be difficult to navigate.

Food & Drink

Will there be food available for purchase?

Yes, most event sites will offer food for purchase.

Can I bring my own food?

Outside food and drink will not be allowed inside the event venues.

Will there be beverages available for purchase? Including alcohol?

Yes, beverages will be widely available. Alcoholic drinks will be available in select venues.

Can I bring alcohol to the events?

No, outside alcohol will not be permitted.

Weather Preparedness

Is the event rain or shine?

Yes, the event is rain-or-shine.

What should I wear/bring for comfort?

  • Dress for the weather; it is typically hot and humid during this time of year.

  • Protect yourself from the sun. Sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses are key. 

Rules & Policies

Is smoking/vaping allowed at the event?

No, smoking and vaping are prohibited at all of the event venues.

Are drones permitted?

Drones are not permitted at any of the event locations.

Can I re-enter the event after leaving?

No, there is no re-entry to events.
